This was one of the first things I experienced when I got to Bolivia. Hands down one of the most uncomfortable busses I’ve ever been on, but watching it go across on a barge made me feel a little hesitant about leaving my backpack in the cargo hold.
On this bus, I met a family from France that had been travelling for 11 months at that point. Instead of keeping their 6-year-old in school, they brought her on their travels around the world and homeschooled her. Very bright girl actually, spoke French and was learning Spanish, and walked around with a look that said “nothing surprises me anymore.” Despite that, she seemed as if she were still looking for new things.
