Alright! Alright!

Alright you can stop asking, I’m fine.  I’m flattered though, that some of you have taken to emailing my mother as an indirect pressure point to get me to write something and send it to the blind ether of the Internet.  Whoever you are, thank-you for finding me something to do.

I have arrived in beautiful Buenos Aires.

I say this cynically; beautiful Buenos Aires has been raining since I got here two weeks ago.

Since I got here though, I have felt absolutely mentally and physically drained.  I have not had the energy nor the drive to do anything touristy, and if I did I wouldn’t like it.  My heart wouldn’t be in it. I have no guilt simply sitting and doing just about nothing.  I have done the tourist attractions though, I have to have some claim over having done something in Buenos Aires, it just wouldn’t be right otherwise.  Safe to say though, that I didn’t enjoy them as much as if I hadn’t been sick the past three weeks.

The rain has driven me indoors, needless to say, and most of the museum hours are so odd that trying to figure them out is like trying to herd sheep with a shitzu.  The siesta, not consistent between businesses, can be from anywhere between 2 and 7, which drives any errand running you might need to do to the early hours, and then you’re left sitting in the hostel, reading a book because whatever it is you want to do isn’t open until the late hours of the evening.  It might be obvious to point out at I haven’t been able to indulge in the siesta lifestyle very well.  I arrived at the hostel I’d been recommended by my Irish friend and was told that there would be a party that night given it was the aniversary of the hostel.  I figured this would be a great way to celebrate not being sick anymore, and given I’d been up since 3, decided to go to go have a short nap before the party got started.  I woke up at 7am.

I might be a tad more tired than I know, but who can tell these days.  I can’t most of the time.

Safe to say, I’m tired.  I’m tired of the trip and I’m tired of being sick.  Since finishing all of the tourist attractions in Buenos Aires, I have done not much other than read books.  The weather hasn’t allowed for much else.

I have had an amazing trip, please don’t misunderstand my cynicism as me having had a bad time abroad.  I have had the most eye-opening and insane experiences of my brief existence.  I have loved most moments of the trip, I have met amazing people, I have had experiences that won’t be forgotten very soon (hopefully) and I will be going on trips in the future.  For now though, I’m just done.

ng my mind in the far off future, and I hope to continue travelling well beyond the end of this trip, but for now, I’m done.  I’m ready for a nice pot of good, bold, black and fantastically full coffee,
